About
Eugenia's design practice targets identity and cultural positioning between digital and physical spaces.
Interested in multidisciplinary approaches, her work transitions between branding and typography, creative coding, publication design and digital interactions, seeing the power in design as a critical, expressive inquiry rather than pure solutionism.
An advocate for personal and cultural expression, Eugenia leans towards experimental approaches to represent topics of identity in hybridised contexts.
Drawn to the narrative power of design, she aspires to be an art director, creating work with lasting cultural depth that merges art and design as one.
Script Hybridity expresses cultural hybridity embedded within analogue and digital systems.
Through hybridising both Chinese and Latin scripts via bi-directional trans-scripting—the injection of one language's writing system into another—artefacts negotiate new modes of expressing hybrid identity, transforming autoethnographic friction into a site of collective cultural resonance.
Tāniko explores the power of visual narratives through a two-part artefact, focusing on Māori weaving traditions. Examining its visual language inclusive of patterns and shapes, the publication serves as an introductory platform to those unfamiliar with the culture, celebrating its beauty through a choice of material that honours traditional Tāniko-weaving.
